The Childhood of Jesus by J.M. Coetzee

The book flap text kindly tells me that this is an allegory. Of the lives of Jesus and his cohorts in the New Testament, I am comfortable assuming. The roles the characters play alter throughout the events of the novel. I think this is a tough one to understand in one sitting, but that's all I can give it for now.
