The Karmadont Chess Set by Vasily Mahanenko

3.0

I would say this book is better than average but only because of the ending and what occurred in the last 40 pages of the book, besides that that book was right in line if not a little below the par for the series. I just felt that Mahan kept getting distracted with all these side quests what started to pop up and very focused on his main quests and plot lines that he has to complete. He was finding these little quests to do and would occupy his time with those inside of his big ones. The one thing i did like about this book was his student and how she spice up the book by adding in a new character. I Thought that Mahan should have seen the betray of of the Phoenix alliance and stacey for a while one, i think even at one point mahan did think that Stacey was betraying him but play it off because it was something that couldn't happen, like come on man use your common sense!!! he should have seen that she was only after the chess set and taken precautions against her, but Mahan didnt and he will probably lose everything now but his castle. I am excited to see where the next book goes in the series and how the ending will effect the plot line as I am expecting a major chance. Looking forward to the next read.
