This is was a fun read. It was charming. It had found family. It was funny. It was a perfect palette cleanser.

Edna Fisher lives in a retirement home. One of her care providers really likes her and takes good care of her. One day mentioned shows up and it's like Edna you are the chosen one. Edna then goes on a quest to find the sword she needs and take out the bad guy. Her caregiver comes with her. They pick up a teenage chosen One want to be. They also meet a stranger whose intentions are less than noble.

My issue is I was worried the whole time that they were going to bury the gays. The caregiver was described as a black man who is pretty flamboyantly stereotypically gay, and I had to kind of think about that for quite a bit as I was reading. The author does not bury the gays but I was worried about it the whole time.

Overall it was charming,  and I liked the idea that there's not like an expiration date on being meaningful and useful to your community. So, if you're looking for a fun story and you are okay with the characterizations in the book this might be a book that you would enjoy.
