Never Too Far by Abbi Glines
2.0
Round and round we go.... This book felt forced, as though Abbi Glines was looking for some way to make it last longer. I appreciated that this book allowed Blair to wrap up the loose ends of her previous home, and I appreciated that Blair experienced the very real consequence of unprotected sex (albeit very predictable in this consequence). What got very old, very quickly, was Blair and Rush repeating the same actions over and over. Rush would do something to hurt her, she would get mad and pull away, he would say in some amazing way that he loved her and would do better, she believes him, they have sex, things are perfect, and 30 seconds later the next conflict happens and the cycle starts all over again.
At a certain point, it just stopped being believable and it began to feel like the fights were an excuse to write about (very quick) make-up sex over, and over, and over again.
I wasn't planning on reading the third book, but I'm a completest, and these are short reads, so... onto book 3. I just hope there's something redeeming.
