The Enemy's Daughter
by Melissa Poett
The Enemy's Daughter drew me in from the first page - I instantly felt as though I could have read this in one sitting. This is a retelling of Tristan and Isolde, which I am unfamiliar with and I was not aware of while reading the book itself. I feel as though the book sits outside of the original tale and you definitely don't need any prior knowledge of the story to enjoy this one!
I found the romance between Tristan and Isadora addictive to read, and the plot is fast paced enough to keep you entertained throughout. However, there are plenty of sweet moments between the two characters, and some of the friends and families they are surrounded with! I really liked the world and felt it an interesting setting for a dystopian story.
I will admit you may need to suspend disbelief to accept the magical connection between Tristan and Isadora, as I found their insta-love relationship relied heavily on the magic working between them. However, if you can put this aside, it's fun to read and you won't be able to put this down! I'll be recommending The Enemy's Daughter as the YA romantasy of the summer.
Thank you to Harper Collins for my advance copy in exchange for an honest review!
