This was one of my favorite books as a kid, so I was looking forward to reading it with my ten-year-old daughter. It hits a bit differently as an adult... The age gap between Winnie and Jesse... The Tuck's lack of interest in becoming educated or making any sort of positive ripple in the world, etc. I might've rated it lower had it not been a childhood favorite. However, it was still a great little read and my daughter enjoyed it as well.
Moderate: Kidnapping
