The Unexpected Inheritance of Inspector Chopra
by Vaseem Khan
I will start this review by saying that I don’t really like mysteries. This is another book that was in my audible library, but I’m not quite sure why (I think it was another Audible sale impulse purchase). This book started off quite slowly. It is the first book in a series and as such a fair amount of background and introduction of characters was needed. It was kind of a slog. In the end the story was marginally interesting, but fairly shallow and I just didn’t connect with the characters. Also, the addition of the elephant as a character, while adding some comedy and ‘human’ interest to the story just didn’t really work for me. The writing was decent and at some point in the future I might be willing to try the second book in the series just to see if the story is more interesting now that the background work is done, but unless you’re really hard up for something to read I’d give this a pass.
