This story wasn’t bad, but I just don’t think it was anything to stand up to other short works by King. Only an author with King’s resumé could have a story like this turned into a movie starring Tom Hiddleston. Any other writer and we would probably say “that was sweet” and move along. I thought the childhood years were the best chapters. Those did have a couple of emotional moments.
