Aurora Rising by Amie Kaufman, Jay Kristoff

Oh, this was GOOD! I didn't even know I needed this book. It's action-packed, funny, full of awesome characters and with a good mystery set-up to boot. A bit of Guardians of the Galaxy meets Ocean's 11 meets Star Wars meets lots of other movies I love complete with a sassy computer named Magellan. It's been a while since a book could surprise me and this one managed it a few times. But, basically, I adored the characters. Every single one. And it's been a loooooong time since I found that in a book. I am sure some readers may get annoyed at the many points of view as each chapter changes narrators but I really enjoyed that and felt it added to the story to get to see it from each of the crew's perspectives and how they even open up to the reader over time in this format. I especially appreciated that the book also moved along and gave out information at a good pace. I wasn't left with so much world building that my head was spinning or so little information that I was too frustrated to care what happened next. I cannot wait for the rest of the story (which sadly, will be a while yet since this just came out). PS best tag line I've seen for a book in a long time too!
