The Young Elites by Marie Lu

2.0

Edit: Can't believe I managed to finish TMI but not this but oh well

I went in this book with high expectations cause of it's reviews.
I was pretty disappointed.
While it's probably not bad book there was absolutely nothing ground-breaking in this fantasy.
The book starts with Adelina in a cell, she says she's here cause she's a murderer. Interesting right? But soon after it looses it's charm. The murder didn't feel like much of a murder to me; it was just an accident.

I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT WHEN THERE'S SO MUCH STRESS UPON SAYING HOW DARK A CHARACTER IS. Okay so she has some dark thoughts but still. I actually did find her dark as well but just hated the emphasis.

The plot line was way too dragged, like nothing happens in the middle and then everything happens in the end.

Spoiler So her sister is kidnapped and all she can think about is making out with a guy who she supposed to betray? What the heck? Also Enzo is probably only interested in her cause she resembles someone he loved. He's also probably aware that she killed his friend Dante, but still wants her. I don't get these characters.

Throughout the book we don't even get a clear picture of some important young elites' powers.

Teren's character was kind of interesting sadly didn't get to learn more. Probably in the sequel which i might not pick up.

I also kind of liked the end. But by then I literally did not care about any of the characters
