mara97 's review for:
Looking back at my review from the previous one, I am giggling seeing that I was optimistic that I would pick this up quickly. I did, in fact, not. It ook me three months to pick it up and in all honesty, the whole time I was like, not really going to enjoy this one. and i somewhat stand by that. It was not godawful or something terrible; I didn't actively dislike it. It's just kinda bland and it doesn't help that the miscommunication trope is still going strong, espeically with the supporting cast. I just don't really care for that, but it did take away from the main relationship. I don't mind a strong supporting cast, but their part has to be fulfulling and it doesn't feel like that to me. I like the young Kuma, but the older one kinda felt like a waste/they should have belonged to another story. I also get tired of the trope that they met at a younger age, like, it could be a cute one-off, but dedicating a whole chapter to it? When it has no real significance? I just think I am going to pull the plug on this one. Though it absolutely is not terrible, if I have to rank it among my similair books (Cut-over-criteria, cherry magic, stay by your side after the rain, the new recruit, fake fact lips, ask and you will receive, my dearest patrolaman, even Wotakoi), I think this is by far the weakest of the office/contemporary romance I have. And it beinga rather expensive series, I might as well cut my losses.
