Everything Good Will Come by Sefi Atta

4.0

"Everything good will come" is one of those books that keep you stuck to the last page. You want to finish it quickly because it’s so good, and when it ends it makes you a little sad because it is over.

Sefi Atta has fluid writing, builds the narrative in a simple and linear way, but no less interesting.

The book provides us with a vision of Nigeria that goes beyond the stereotypes created about Africa and that is refreshing. In addition to the historical dimension, the social dimension is presented to us, very well portrayed by Atta. All this through the eyes of Enitan over 25 years of a journey of growth and maturation within a society marked by structural machismo, gender issues, loss of civil rights, military dictatorships, and cultural clashes etc.

Highly recommended!
