Fire Heart by Emma Hamm
4.0
Fire Heart was such a great read! It has been a while since I have delved into fantasy thanks to other genres occupying my time and I am so glad Fire Heart was my first read back. It is told in dual PoV (LOVE) via Lore, a half elf woman, and Abraxas, the kings bodyguard and dragon (fun!)
Lore and Abraxas' paths meet by unfortunate chance as they both serve the King against their will. The King who hates magic and magical creatures.. Lore is reluctantly helping the resistance by pretending to want to be the bride of the King while trying to hide her heritage.
Abraxas was forced into servitude of the crown since the previous King sat on the throne and while he is unhappy he stays and is compliant for one reason.
This book has compelling characters and plot that involves a competition and all the action and danger you could want in a book. Love, love, love it.
