Taking place between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, the reader gets the background on Rey and her parents, the Sith planet Exegol,and what Luke has been doing since the fall of the Empire 17 years earlier. I liked the Jedi Master Luke more than the depressing hermit Luke from The Last Jedi. Lando and Luke make an interesting pair, they work together better than I expected, since usually Calrissian is teamed up with Han Solo and Chewbacca.
