Heartless
by Elsie Silver
Don’t get me started on “Heartless” by Elsie Silver. Where do I even begin? Cade is the human equivalent of "I don’t say much, but I’ll build you a house with my bare hands.” And then there’s Willa, the girl with zero chill and a banter game so strong that even Cade’s grumpiness doesn’t stand a chance.
Speaking of Cade—can we talk about Cowboy Cade in a backward baseball cap? Something about that imagery sent my brain into a tailspin. He’s already got the broody, rugged, rancher thing going for him, but add in that baseball cap and suddenly I understand what people mean when they say “save a horse, ride a cowboy.”
The push and pull between Cade and Willa is pure perfection. Their banter? Top-tier. Their chemistry? Fireworks. The longing stares from Cowboy Cade when Willa isn’t looking? I am not okay.
If you love grumpy-sunshine romances, ridiculously good banter, and a cowboy who loves fiercely but doesn’t always have the words for it—this one is for you! Round of applause for Elsie Silver!
