Great or Nothing by Jessica Spotswood, Caroline Tung Richmond, Tess Sharpe, Joy McCullough

Ok I’ll be honest.

I think I just would have liked a book focused on Amy and Laurie. Mostly because Amy’s storyline was the most interesting in terms of her sneaking off to serve in the Red Cross. It honestly would have been better if it had been more serious and her relationship with Laurie had been written with more depth. Still, it was the best part of the book for me.

Which actually is pretty bad because Little Wome is supposed to be about the bond between the sisters.

I think in this case, the premise of the retelling during WW2 was super clever. But the fact that each sister was written by different authors actually hurt the endeaver.

Jo, Meg, and Amy were estranged the entire book. They didn’t even reunite at the end.. which literally.. what??! In thst case, just give me a more in depth story abt Amy and Laurie. I would just age up Amy, keep her in London, and put Laurie in some real danger. Throw in a but more drama and romance and it would potentially be *chef’s kiss*

But seriously bummed that this was not the retelling I was wanting. I had been waiting for the release too. Sigh.
