Queen of the Flowers by Kerry Greenwood
4.0
This installment of the Phryne Fisher series finds the circus in town, plus the first Flower Festival in St. Kilda’s. Who better than Phryne to be Queen of the Flowers? She has flower maidens to ride on the float with her, and when one of them disappears, she is asked to investigate the girl’s disappearance.
Closer to home, one of her adopted daughters also disappears. Ruth had requested a visit to her mother, so Phryne suspects Ruth has gone off to find her father.
While the Flower Festival and circus are entertaining and lovely, the dark underbelly of the circus and St. Kilda’s plays a prominent part in this book.
As always, Phryne is impeccably dressed, dines well, and uses her resources, including a former flame from bygone days, to help discover what has happened to the two girls.
This is another good entry in this series. As always, I thoroughly enjoy Greenwood’s writing and her stories continue to delight!
