I’ve read so many of Vi Keeland’s romances, as well as her first thriller released not long ago. I’m a huge fan of the romance, but didn’t connect with the previous thriller (though I thoroughly enjoy the genre).

That said, she had me completely at the edge of my seat this time around - there was so much intrigue and excitement that I couldn’t put the book down! She kept my attention with every word and I think that the only thing which would make it better would be an incredible narrator (I normally listen to audio but I read the ebook this time)!

So many tiny little things added up to one giant wallop of a surprise slap at the end, that I sure didn’t expect and I don’t think any reader will guess - bravo, Vi! And I’m not just talking about what out main character Elizabeth learns as we get closer to the end about her mysterious friend, but the actual, very, very end (don’t you all go reading the last page and spoiling the entire book for yourself, now!). Whew! What a crazy revelation!! So, now I have to re-read and figure out what actually happened! I think I’m left with more questions after the last sentence than I had figured out before the last pages…

A brilliant read that will definitely mess with what you believe is reality - but be careful if you have triggers related to the subject. Could be an issue. Otherwise, it is absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend it!

Thank you to the author, NetGalley and Atria/Emily Bestler Books for the advance copy. This is my honest opinion.
