Killing Me Softly by Nicci French
4.0
Though I have some reservations and mixed feelings about it, this novel was un-put-down-able. It is probably the most addictive and fun book I've read since Gone Girl...I finished the whole thing in 24 hours. It was fascinating, a guilty pleasure, suspenseful, and genuinely touching and thought-provoking.
It was more emotionally disturbing to me than Gone Girl, in that the main character seemed more realistic in her feelings, more human. And the ending left me feeling both relief and sadness. Also, I really enjoyed the mountain-climbing aspect of this novel-it was an interesting dimension to the thriller.
I will definitely be looking into reading other novels by Nicci French in the future.
