I only really loved the beginning of the book and the "Lucy arc", everything else was either just slightly interesting or just boring.
I understand that it's not entirely fair to judge books that hold views that were normal for their time but unacceptable in ours. However, in this case, I think it ruined the book for me. If I have to read how much of sweet woman or how brave a guy is, I might pull my hair out. It was repetitive and annoying. This book could have definitely benefited if it was shorter.
