challenging emotional informative medium-paced

5.0

Listened to this book and was riveted from the start.  I think Tessa does a great job at breaking down what a Chronic Illness is and how people that are affected by it themselves or by people they know can navigate through having this disease.  She has Chron's disease, so most of her talking points are about that (there are some very descriptive parts!). and the GI system, but I feel that most of the information can be useful for anyone that is going through these issues.  I felt like after I read the book I knew a lot more than I previously did.  I thought it was a good balance of memoir and medical information.  If you do listen to the audio there are many resources that she talks about that you would want to make sure you download or somehow get, if you wanted to see those.  I was introduced to Tessa from The Stacks Podcast and I think that it helped having a primer of who the author was going into this book.  She seems very likable
