A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik

Have to admit that I liked this more than expected. I often avoid controversial books, but this one was available from the library. I didn't have much else to read, so I checked this one out. My favorite part was how nonchalant everyone was about the constant death . . . it's morbid, but true ;)

I also noticed that the version I read contained the infamous controversial line edited out of the newer editions. Much to ponder in terms of how much authors should be allowed to edit their work after publication. That said, in this case, it seems removing the line in question was the right call.
