Rear View: A Fast-Paced, Thrilling Car Racing Romance by K.C. Harper

4.0

Just watched the new F1 movie (LOVED), so naturally I had to dive into Rear View by K.C. Harper right after and let me tell you, rally car romance? Yes, please.

As a massive Formula 1 fan, I was so excited to see racing take center stage in a romance. The setting was unique and the racing terminology was surprisingly well explained. I actually learned stuff, which made my little motorsport heart happy.

Now, let’s be real: I could’ve lived without the excessive use of sexual terms on repeat, because it was just TOO much, and I am a smut queen. Also... why was our Canadian rally driver talking like he was a cowboy from Texas? “Darlin’” every other line? Kind of distracting.

But even with those hiccups, I still enjoyed the story. Xavier and Ryah had real chemistry, and I appreciated the mix of romance and suspense. The stalker subplot added just enough tension to keep me flipping pages. Plus, the way the title tied into the story? Clever!

It’s not a podium finish, but still a solid race weekend read. Fast paced, heartfelt, and fun but just don’t expect a perfect lap.

🏁💥 Would recommend for anyone looking for something quick, adrenaline filled, and emotionally driven.

Thank you to NetGalley, K.C. Harper, and Carina Press for the eARC of this book.
