I saw that Kandi had posted that this was her favorite book to write & I knew I needed to get my hands and eyeballs on it. This book was just a rollercoaster of emotions. It is a hauntingly, beautiful story of two people on journey literally and figuratively. I was completely invested in Emery and Cooper's characters. The angst in this book is next level and the writing feels so real. The mental health representation and the struggles of both characters were perfectly executed. I felt my heart ache for them while rooting for them at the same time.

FINAL THOUGHTS: My heart. The epilogue and the author's notes left me in tears. This isn't your typical love story. Emery is dark and brooding but intriguing. Cooper overcomes so much and is a sunshine of a human. This standalone romance will quite literally take you on a roadtrip filled with highs and lows. The story felt so real. Highly, highly recommend.
