The Poisonwood Bible
by Barbara Kingsolver
I really enjoyed this book about a family of Christian missionaries who travel to the Belgian Congo in 1959. It is told by the mother and four daughters spanning 3 decades. I loved learning about the African country and its exotic plants, animals, and customs. It was also funny (and sad) how the evangelical father is so rude and demeaning to these people. I enjoyed the character Adah the best out of the daughters, but in the end Leah turned out to be pretty cool as well.
