I'll be completely honest... I have no clue what happened here.

I loved all the authors previous books, so this is honestly a huge surprise for me to not love this one too.

I felt like from the beginning I didn't care for the characters. I didn't love the narration method with Elliot and I felt like it was a bit messy. I got a lot of whiplash in this book because things were all over the place, which I 100% believe some people are going to love. Personally, the entire story didn't seem intriguing enough and the motives were bland to me.

I don't mind unlikeable characters, especially in a thriller, but I felt like these characters just didn't do it for me. I did find it a little hard to follow along with as well. Overall, I think my main issue with the book was the storytelling. I've loved the authors ability to tell a story in the past, but this one just seemed like it was trying to do too much and was doing a lot of the reveals for the shock factor. The characters were not mature at all and the lack of development in any of the characters wasn't a good time for me.

I'm going to write this one off as a "not for me" and hope the next one is better! I'm so sure this book will have its audience, unfortunately it just wasn't me this time.
