The Man in the House by Emmy Ellis, M.A. Comley

5.0

This was a fantastic book to read, it was a collaboration between Mel Comley and Emmy Ellis and it worked very well. The story was great and reeled you in from the start and I was hooked right until the end, read it in one sitting.

DI Helene Stratton is called out to a woman's dead body in the middle of the night. She doesn't disturb her partner DS Andy Mald as there is friction between them and she could do without his presence tonight. This killer seems to like strangling his victims but then mutates them in bizarre ways, gets more frightening as he carries on. He watches his victims, he waits then he strikes.

Fast paced and lots of descriptive writing to keep you on your toes, feel like you are there, actually living the story. It's the start of a new series and I'm already looking forward to the next book, can't wait. Mel and Emmy make a great writing duo!
