The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer
5.0
So, I have the whole series but I only read book 1 and that was a while ago. I did forget about a lot of things that happened in the first one. But this felt like I picked right back off where he left us.
The story was incredibly interesting and I liked how it wasn’t just a quest or an adventure, but it really took the time to understand characters and their motivations. I also like how more characters exist in the grey, rather than being simply good or simply bad.
I will applaud Colfer for the fact that he doesn’t excuse horrible actions because the person doing them was hurt or abused. I hate when authors do that with villains or bad guys and I was glad to see that absent.
It reminded me how much I love his writing and the series. And I will absolutely keep reading the rest of the books.
