Merry and Bright by Jill Shalvis
5.0
This was my first Jill Shalvis book, but it won't be the last.
I loved everything about it: the sense of humor, the sweet small-town settings, the quirky heroines with love lives worse than mine, and, of course, the heroes. A hunky construction worker, brainy lawyer and sexy young mayor. That I normally think of mayors as my father's or grandfather's age was not a deal-breaker for me with "Ms. Humbug," the third story in the collection.
Another plus was the fact that it was a collection of three shorts. In this busy time of year, it's tough for me to carve out time to read a full-length novel. However, these stories were easily readable in one or two sittings (depending on how close to passing out I was when I curled up to read).
