This book was a very easy read almost as though it was for the young adult sector. I thought the story was very captivating it felt very realistic but I know so little about Italy during World War II. I think that is why this book gets a three out of five stars, taking on Italy with Jewish survivors is some thing I haven’t seen in World War II historical fiction. However, I really didn’t like the writing style. Like I said it felt very young adult and due to that I think there was a lot that they had missed in writing this novel. I felt as though this could’ve gotten deeper into the hardships everyone had experienced.
