A Good Book
by Jewel E. Ann
I’ll be eternally sad that this series is over, or at least I think it is, because I just love it so much, Sarah and Issac’s Sunday Morning is one of my fav Jewel E. Ann books which makes me love this series all that much more, and when I picked up this book with it starting with Gabby crushing hard on Matt, her sister’s ex, I was sat. Then the first shock came and honestly they didn’t stop. I was texting a friend of mine with all the shocks without spoiling anything and begging her to read the book as soon as she can cause I want to see her reactions, this book was built for buddy reading and I love that so much.
Ben has been in love with Gabby for as long as he could remember, and it’s a pure and fresh love that comes from being best friends for years, but when his life is turned upside down, he ends up hurting Gabby in ways he doesn’t even understand. During this time, Gabby is also going through a lot and yet still has so much compassion and love for Ben that i think she truly encompasses a kind, preacher’s daughter which is who she is at her core and it fits so well. I’m being vague as to not spoil anything so if you’re wondering what I’m alluding to at any point, go read the book haha.
I loved this book so much, it’s a story about unwavering love, and overcoming obstacles and challenges you don’t see coming yet are permanent and so it requires strength and a desire and will to love to continue and those always produce the best books. I also loved seeing Gabby’s parents finally becoming more accepting of their daughter’s lives. I could write a thesis on how each book perfectly shows the growth and differences in parenting styles from the oldest child to the youngest and the burdens the eldest kids have to deal with, but how it carries down in some ways to each child resulting in different personalities, fears, strengths and more. I’m done rambling now, go read this whole series!
