The only thing that keeps me from rating this a five star book is that the characters fall flat for me. I do really like Mona. Poor thing spends most of the book in a state of wtf, which is hilariously relatable. For me, there is just something oddly lacking in the characters. I honestly can’t even put my finger on what it is, they just feel kind of hollow. (Which may have even been intentional considering…) Even despite that one glaring issue, I loved this book. Probably one of my favorite reads for the year. You may not even feel the same way and be totally fine with character development. I would still whole heartedly recommend this book. It’s long and twisty and totally worth it.
