Twisted Together by Pepper Winters

4.0

"Our souls are that of monsters born in the dark."

Twisted Together was a great conclusion to this amazingly intriguing and dark Monsters in the Dark trilogy. Everything ties up nicely and it was just as exciting and twisted as the two other books. I really enjoyed this final book.

Tess and Q are absolutely some of my favorite characters. They're both very different to read about but on the other hand they're very much the same. I liked reading their points of view equally and as always they were very interesting to read about. Even after two books with them I still had a lot to learn about both of them, especially Q. He still managed to surprise me with his darkness as well as his love for Tess. He's pretty damn amazing.

Aside from it being a little too long in my opnion, I really liked the story. In my eyes it was divided in three parts:
The beginning - where Tess and Q dealt with the aftermath of everything that happened in Quintessentially Q. I'm so glad Q got through to Tess eventually. There were a lot of really intense scenes there that I loved. They were absolutely amazing. Pepper really kept surprising me.
The middle - where it seems that Tess and Q are both getting back to their own selves, sort of... but then it soon goes to hell again. My reaction literally was: they just can't catch a break, huh? But at least it makes for a very exciting story.
And lastly, the end - It was a bit too drawn out for me. A little too long but in the end I really liked how it ended. I must admit I had to fight some tears because I felt emotional with it being the end and all.

I also really need to mention Franco. I've always liked him. Well, maybe not in the beginning but he really stood out in this book and I feel like Pepper has set the beginnings for a story of his own. I really hope that will eventually happen because he's such an intriguing and great character. So maybe someday soon!

And as always the writing was gorgeous. Pepper Winters really has a beautiful way of forming words. Her writing is probably some of my most favorite ever. I couldn't get enough of it all... The story, the characters, the darkness, the writing... It was all pretty damn great!
