4.5 stars. This took so long for me to read, but was more my fault than the books. I think it threw off my experience a bit which is probably why this didn't quite hit the five star mark for me. I loved the character development and I loved that the twists and turns kept coming and didn't disappoint. Parts of the ending where a little predictable but I liked that Rutkoski didn't attempt to tie up everything in neat little packages. This book is about war and war isn't like that. Overall, I adored this book, as expected. This whole trilogy is a definite recommend... *Swoons*
