Crescendo by Becca Fitzpatrick

I usually give a book one star if I’m unequivocally sure that a lot people will also hate it just as much as I did; and therefore, I would never recommend it because I want to spare a lot of people the pain of reading it. However, I'm going to ignore the fact that numerous people relished this book because I absolutely loathed it.

It was definitely not the plot (actually slightly). It was primarily the obnoxious characters (Yes, I mean you, Nora.)

I’m unable to master the energy to do a proper review, so here’s a script instead.

Warning: I read this a very long time ago and my memory is very sketchy, but I still remember hating the book passionately.

Nora: Patch, I love you.
Patch: …..
Nora: …..You don’t love me?
Patch: Ummmmmmmmmm...ahhhhhhhh...I'll get back to you.

I hated patch after this. I mean why couldn’t he just tell her that he loved her? So, I wouldn’t read 400 pages of her obsessing over him to the point where it was unbelievably insane and very abnormal.

Nora: I saw you with Marcie she’s like my arch-nemesis.
Patch: Yeah, why?
Nora: Because I hate her.
Patch: But why do you hate her?
Nora: Because I hate her.
Patch: So you hate her because you hate her?
Nora: Whatever. I saw you and Marcie together. I don’t want you to be my guardian angel anymore.
Patch: Dramatic bitch much?

Okay, fine that’s not exactly what they said, but it’s what happened. Also I liked Marcie completely much better than Nora. And that’s saying something.

To be straightforward this book would have been somewhat decent if only Nora’s character was replaced with an actual heroine.
