Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng

5.0

“You never got what you wanted; you just learned to get by without it.”

THIS WAS SO INCREDIBLE! I picked this up from a second hand bookstore because I had heard everyone hyping up Celeste Ng's other book Little Fires Everywhere and thought to myself 'Ng must be a pretty damn good author'. The synopsis of this book reminded me of my favourite show The Killing and I knew that if Ng was as good as everyone claimed she was, she would definitely do a storyline like this justice. The family dynamics of these characters was so phenomenally written and interesting and I think Ng really hit the nail on the head with the representation of a Chinese-American family and the struggles which they faced during the era in which this book was set. God this book absolutely blew me away. I can't even put it into words how this book made me feel. Now I'm rambling. Please read this. Please
