"It occurs to Trian that the difference isn't in the raw material, so much as the making."

this line summarizes the whole novel i think. trian is talking about the difference between men and birds, noticing the way that the ends of feathers end in a similar material to fingernails. but this motif, of making new, of taking the building blocks of people, of a monastery, of a church, of a religion, and making it a new way traces thru the book.

thinking ab the morrigan, irish pagan trilogy to match this one by the men, wherein the morrigan is depicted sometimes as mother, maiden, and crone in one being, shown as a trinity and that was the same set up of our three characters here.

i think it was well paced and well executed. i picked this one up because i loved room, and i was not disappointed by this in the least. five stars unquestionably
