A straightforward Hades/Persephone retelling. Set in modern-day NYC, Persephone finds herself working for financial tycoon Hades. It's a winding road to their Fated status and a bit of a surprise ending!
We stan a solid H/P retelling on this account! Hades and Persephone are full and flawed. Their dynamics are dramatic, but also still on that ledge of realism. All the classic players are present in the story, which makes this mythology teacher very happy. However, it tweaked the tale enough that there were a few surprises for me. I honestly loved that the above ground-underworld schedule was in place separate from Persephone's character, creating a built-in ticking clock for the romance to progress. Loved this one as a whole and look forward to the next installment (since it was a cliffhanger!).
