The Transgender Issue: An Argument for Justice by Shon Faye

5.0

Shon Faye eloquently steers the conversation away from toxic cyclical discussions of the semantics behind the word "woman" and instead suggests we focus on the real issues that face trans people on a disproportionate level: homelessness, issues with accessing gendered healthcare services and being turned away from homeless shelters, the lengthy process in accessing healthcare, poverty, workplace discrimination, domestic and misogynistic violence.

The last chapter goes into why it's essential to include trans people within feminism, that they are subject to the same forces of misogyny and gender-based violence that cis women face.
