The Margot Affair by Sanaƫ Lemoine
3.0

Margot doesn't really "come of age" in this book; she just gets a bit older. When she moves on to university after the end of the book, it seems likely that things will continue to happen to her, and she will feel happy or sad about these things.

The story is ok, and the writing is competent enough. Unfortunately, it is like a professionally painted and decorated dentist's waiting room -- you might appreciate the craft that went into it, but you are unlikely to be inspired.

Unless you like food described in obsessive detail, every single time anyone eats anything. Then this is the book for you.
