I think this book would have been more informative and captivating to me if I had read it about seven years ago.

I was disappointed in a section on sex appeal where the author describes a Calvin Klein ad. 'The one for women's skivvies featured the waifish Kate Moss hugging her bony arms to her bony chest.' Yes, she's in an advertisement but why on Earth does she need to be criticized for her appearance. The author didn't insult Mark Wahlberg 'clutching his crotch and grinning' while describing him as 'well-muscled actor and stud muffin'. That really turned me off to the author.

This book has also aged a bit, I would reach for a newer book on advertising. Nothing was new information to me but that's probably due to a few papers I wrote in college and that I majored in advertising.
