This novella is the second in the Lychford series that features witches Lizzie, Autumn, and Judith. The setting is a lovely English village named Lychford where the trio of witches are becoming settled and the imagery in the book feels very homey and picturesque, especially as this story takes place around Christmas time.

I enjoy the mentorship and supportive friendship the witches share. Although their world is magical, they still pop out for drinks and worry about how to handle romantic entanglements. When they face personal or external struggles, they turn to each other for help.

This story is quite complicated for it being a novella. There’s a “ghost” story and dark forces to deal with. This book weaves together a few storylines and it works really well. The world building is coming along nicely in this series and I’d say Lychford is place I’d like to visit, maybe even taking the time to attend a service at Reverend Lizzie’s church, St. Martin’s and then going to the pub afterward for a pint!
