This was such a gutting, honest portrayal of being queer in catholic Ireland in the ‘90s. I kind of hated all the characters (except Martin!), especially our narrator, Lucy. She was pretty insufferable. But the story was really well written and kind of a slice of history, and it kept me engaged in the book, even if it wasn’t my favorite.
