Dream a Little Dream by Susan Elizabeth Phillips

3.0

Just revisited "Dream a Little Dream" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips, and while the series holds a special place in my heart, this one lands at a cautious 3/5 stars for me.

Let's start with the good stuff—the series overall. It's like revisiting old friends, and there's a comfort in that. Phillips has a way of creating characters and a world that feels like a cozy escape.

Now, for Gabe and Rachel. Here's the deal—I found myself wishing they'd spend more time in therapy than in the bedroom. Their relationship seemed more like trauma bonding for a good chunk of the book, and it left me wanting a bit more depth and meaningful connection between them. It's like they finally hit their stride, but it took until the last third of the book.

While I still enjoyed the read, it didn't quite hit the high notes of some others in the series. If you're into complex relationships and don't mind a slow burn, "Dream a Little Dream" might still be worth a go. Just be ready for a bit of a bumpy ride.
