Dark and Stormy Knights: A Paranormal Fantasy Anthology
by Deidre Knight, Carrie Vaughn, Vicki Pettersson, Rachel Caine, Ilona Andrews, Lilith Saintcrow, Shannon K. Butcher, P.N. Elrod, Jim Butcher
A collection of urban fantasy short stories.
I enjoyed reading this thoroughly. Short story anthologies are usually pretty hit-or-miss for me, even if they're by one author, but this one was pretty solid. While I'm not going to follow up with every new author, there were no points at which I was regretting spending my time on it. The stories were consistent both thematically and in terms of writing quality, and even the "just okay" ones were still pretty good. I bought this book because I like Ilona Andrews's Kate Daniels series.
It's a little dated, but I would recommend this to fans of fantasy, and to new readers looking to break into urban fantasy or the vast world of fantasy in general.
