The Girl from the Sea is really cute -- the art is adorable, and the way Morgan gives in to Keltie and falls in love with her is really cute as well. I did find it rather sad in some ways, too: I never had the opportunity to stay in the closet as Morgan does, being forcibly outed to the whole school when I was 13, but it's exactly because of that that I understand Morgan's fears exactly. Being out is doable, and there is support out there... but it does feel like it would've been easier to hold it all in and wait until I could leave home and set up a whole new life there.

Despite that, I would've loved to see this fleshed out a bit more: both Keltie and Morgan's story and how they fell in love, to deepen the connection with it and make the ending hit the mark harder, and Morgan's relationships with those around her. Her brother in particular, but also her friends, because we get glimpses of how much they are, but not why they're friends, and what glues them together.

It ends up being a sweet short story, but I think there's room for more without adding unduly to the page count.
