The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins

5.0

It seemed appropriate to post a quick review of this series today, to serve as a reminder of the power we can have when we come together to identify facism qnd work together to take it down.

This series is a favourite of mine as it is so engaging and the parallels to our western society is bang on (and that’s by the design of the author). There’s a reluctant hero (Katniss), a villain (Snow) who has gone unchecked for decades, classism, regionalism, pride, fierceness, determination, and so much more.

I think there are so many lessons that can be learned from these books when we are willing to closely examine our own lives and society writ large. It frustrates me when people can read these books, rave about them, and then not question real life.
