Face-Off at the Altar by Toni Aleo

I enjoyed the book and being back in the Assassins universe but the newer characters just don’t seem to click with me as much as the previous characters did. For one thing they are too young. Meeting your one true love/soulmate at 18 just does it work for me. No real life experience. Additionally these two characters just didn’t inspire the same connection in me as the core Assassins and their wives did.

The writing is still well done and I’m still loving the Assassins universe but it almost feels like the social issues are becoming a bigger part of the story than the characters which is different from the early books. Thanks not necessarily a bad thing but it’s a different thing.
