I Married A Lizardman by Regine Abel
5.0

I feel like I'm just echoing all of the other great reviews but it's true that this book is surprisingly good. The cover and premise make it seem like this is going to be a light-hearted, ridiculous story but, while this was slightly true, the world and characters were a lot more complex. The planet and species had a history, there was a central conflict within the clan, and the main characters worked to form a good friendship with good communication and genuine respect for each other which is absent from many romances. The heroine was competent, knowledgable, and determined which was great and the hero had a soft spot for her from the beginning and it was just so sweet to read how much he was trying to make her happy and to make their marriage successful. It was really good and I would highly recommend it.
