Cyrano is in love with is cousin Roxanne, but doesn't find the courage to tell her. You see, Cyrano has a quite large nose, which makes him ugly. so how could Roxanne love him? Moreover Roxanne is in love with Christian who's handsome but not a man of words, which is something Roxanne want in a man. Seeing that, Cyrano will help Christian to write Roxanne beautiful love letters, pouring his own feeling in them. Even if it hurts him to see their love, all he wants is for Roxanne to be happy.

I found this story of selfless love beautiful and so well written. One of my favorite book.
